ISO update April 6, 2007AN IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR RESIDENTS OFSOURDOUGH FIRE DISTRICTSourdough Fire Chief Brian Crandell has been informed that effective June 1st, 2008, Sourdough Fire District residents and businesses located within the district will enjoy a significantly better fire insurance (ISO) rating. ISO authorities have awarded Sourdough Fire District a new rating of 4 which places them in the top 8% of the 416 fire departments in Montana. The new rating was based on a number of factors including training hours, equipment and firefighter response to emergencies. ISO evaluates municipal fire-protection efforts in communities throughout the United States. Many insurance companies use ISO information to help establish fair premiums for fire insurance — generally offering lower premiums in communities with better protection. Farmers Insurance Regional Manager Ted Becker said “Many Farmers Insurance customers living in Sourdough Fire District can expect a fire insurance reduction in the neighborhood of 10% – 20% . We congratulate all the volunteers of Sourdough Fire Department on achieving this outstanding rating.” Sourdough Fire District residents are encouraged to contact their insurance company for possible reductions in fire insurance rates effective June 1, 2007. |
