RURAL FIRE DISTRICT A Special meeting of the Sourdough Rural Fire District was called to order by Chairman Kraft at 7:55 PM on August 7,2006 at the South Third Station for the “Consideration of a Resolution to conduct a special election authorizing the Trustees of the Sourdough Rural Fire District to levy additional mills above the mill levy limit imposed by law” All Trustees were present as were Chief Crandell and COC Rose. The following property valuation figures were obtained from the Treasurer’s office just prior to the meeting: District property Market Value: $276,758,064 Taxable value: $ 8,749,590 Mill value (1/1000th of $1.00) $ 8,749.59 The following Resolution 2006-3 (title – complete text in record) was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE DISTRICT AT A SPECIAL ELECTION THE QUESTION OF AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO MAKE A LEVY OF _________ MILLS IN ADDITION TO THE MILL LEVY LIMIT IMPOSED BY LAW FOR THE PURPOSE OF GENERAL OPERATION AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FUNDING Chief Crandell presented preliminary estimates for construction costs for the South 3rd station based on design concepts previously reviewed by the Trustees. The 10,000 ft2 facility construction costs would $250/ft for a total of $2.5 million. It was noted that existing well and recently built septic system would be integrated into the design, and that land was already owned by the District. The trustees discussed anticipated rising construction material, fuel, labor and interest costs and felt that a prudent cost estimate including contingencies would be $3 million. Accordingly, based on the valuation figures the specific amount of money to be raised through a mill-levy election was set at: $427,110 per year, and the approximate number of mills required at this time of 48.82 to provide for the specific amount to be raised. Geddes moved passage of the Resolution; seconded by Larimer and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8 P.M.
