SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT
September 15, 2001

The regular meeting of the Sourdough Fire District Board of Trustees was called to order by Vice-Chairman Steve Dayhuff at 7:45 PM on October 15, 2000. Trustees present were Dayhuff, Bachman (with proxy from Geddes) and Harper. Absent were Kraft and Geddes.

The minutes of the September 17 meeting were presented. Motion for approval by Harper, second by Bachman: Approved.

The Treasurer's Report was presented. Bookkeeper Scott Mueller continues to work for SFD, and will do so until a replacement is found. Bachman moved and Harper seconded to approve the Treasurers Report and authorize signatures on warrants > $300: Approved.

Kandy Rose, of the Sourdough FD Supporters reported on the annual Pancake Breakfast held the previous Saturday. 537 persons attended, mostly from within the District. A sign in list was made at the door, and will be used as a tool to help with our service commitment. There was real appreciation expressed by the public four our firefighters; the breakfast was judged a great success by all in attendance. Public presentations of special service award certificates were made to Randy Larimer and posthumously to Ken Marcott. Chief Brian Crandell was presented with a certificate attesting to his 25 years of fire service to the public.

The Chief's report was presented for inclusion in the record. Trustee discussion centered on Purdy Fire, that was seen as a precursor for future fire events and response at the District interface. Agency cooperation and communication was identified as a future concern.

Bachman presented a conditional letter of commitment from the First Security Bank of Bozeman dated September 25, 2001. A loan amount of $750,000 at 5% interest was stated. Harper Moved that the trustees accept these conditions and direct First Security Bank draw up a Letter of Commitment and authorized signatures by any trustees upon review and acceptance of such a letter. The motion passed.
