SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT MINUTES

October 16, 2006

The Regular October meeting of the Sourdough Rural Fire District was called to order at 7 PM by Chairman Kraft.  All Trustees were present as was Chief Crandell, COC Rose and Firefighter Allen Harper, as well as 9 members of the public; present for public comment period on pending Mill-Levy Election.

Agenda Review:  No Change

Consent Agenda:   September Financial report was presented.  Bachman moved for approval and for payment of warrants > $500.  Kraft seconded – Motion Passed without objection.

Regular Agenda:  The September minutes were presented.  Kraft moved for acceptance and Bachman seconded.  Motion passed without objection.
 

  • Public comment on Mill-levy election:  Nine members of the public were in attendance and watched the video which was produced to explain the need and plan for replacing the 3rd St station with the revenue increase to be voted upon.  The public present were generally very supportive of the mission and performance of SFD.  Concerns expressed focused on cost issues and needs beyond station construction.  A second public meeting will be held on November 13.

The trustees recessed at the end of the 11/2  hour comment period and reconvened at 9 PM for the Chief’s Report (included in the Record).  Notable was the Pancake Breakfast report which tallied 770 breakfast supporters!  Donated revenue will approach $5,000 which is about the break-even figure for eggs and other necessary breakfast food and amenities. 

Unfinished Business:  “Continuity of Governance … Policy”.  Deferred until next meeting.
