SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT MINUTES September 18, 2006 The regular September meeting of the Sourdough Rural Fire District was called to order at 7:45 PM by Chairman Kraft. All trustees were present as were Chief Crandell and COC Rose. Agenda Review. COC Rose will present her report after the consent agenda and prior to other business. Consent Agenda: The August and September Financial Reports were submitted and moved by Geddes for acceptance along with payment of warrants > $500. Second by Dayhuff. It was noted that August Warrants > $500 had been signed in August by Trustees Geddes and Bachman in order to avoid overdue payment. The motion was passed without objection. COC Report: Rose reported on a successful drive-through drill on October 15. SFD exposure to neighborhoods was very positive. Election preparation is underway with newsletter mailed to each District address. Two advertised informative meetings will be held: October 16 and November 13 at 7PM prior to the Regular Monthly Meetings held those dates. Note that the November Regular Meeting has been moved to the 2nd Monday. The pancake breakfast will be on October 14, and the Trustees encouraged to be present for the entire time to meet and explain election merits. A DVD of the video explaining the election produced by Dennis Carlson will for election discussion prior to the October 16. Regular Agenda : Geddes moved to approve meeting agendas which were submitted as follows: July regular, August 7 special and August 13 special meetings. Dayhuff seconded; the motion was passed w/out objection. Chief’s Report: the Chiefs Report was submitted and placed in the record. Trustee discussion topics included: wildlands fire situation, planning and response; subdivision review; upcoming ISO evaluation and response to the Derby Fire. Sourdough Fire responded to 21 calls for service for the month. Service Assessment, S. 3rd Station: The Trustees reviewed the final cut of the 3rd Street Station Video in which the station structure, function and overall deficiencies are shown and discussed by the Trustees and Chief. This DVD will be distributed to District customers in November. Unfinished Business: Continuity of Government Policy deferred to October meeting. New Business: None Trustee Activities: Bachman reported on joint letter sent to GNF regarding Bozeman Watershed. There were no announcements or public comment. The meeting was adjourned at 10 PM.
