SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT MINUTES -draft

The Regular June Meeting of the Sourdough Rural Fire was called to order at 7:40 PM by Chairman Kraft.  Present were trustees Bachman and Dayhuff and Chief Crandell and Kandy Rose and Bookkeepers Mueller and Miller.

Agenda Review:  No change

Financial Report:  Scott Mueller and Ester Miller submitted an addendum to the 06/17/06 report that reflects the closing figures for FY06-06, and 06 payment for the district bank loan.  The trustees complimented Scott and Ester for their diligence and Chief Crandell for his careful management of district resources.  Carry over balance is $49,592.58 .  Bachman moved for approval and to pay warrants >$500 and seconded by Dayhuff and  passed without objection.

Minutes:  Bachman moved for approval of the May minutes; seconded by Dayhuff and passed without objection.

Community Outreach Report:  Kandy Rose reported on a well attended Triple Tree homeowners meeting and inclusion of defensive fire strategies in their newsletter.  Randy and Kandy have earned certification as CPR instructors and will be working with CERT meeting in the district.  The ARC has obtained a pandemic flue video which will be shown at future CERT meetings.  The annual SFD ride around will be conducted in early July; the trustees will be notified of the date.  COC efforts to persuade MT DNRC to install an early (collapse) warning system were discussed.

Chief’s Report:  The chiefs report was presented and placed in the record.  Notable was the participation in the recent building collapse drill utilizing 1 commercial and 2 residential structures that had been condemned.  District  volunteers worked with SLC regional disaster teams in this exercise.

Service Assessment:    Support help by Joe Elrod and his influence on SFD volunteers in maintaining apparatus and District resources.  Knowledge and satisfaction with SFD service activities is growing among district residents.

Unfinished business:  The Interlocal Agreement ratified by the RAE Service Area at their recent meeting and is filed in the District Record at the office of Chris Grey.

No further business as brought before the Trustees and the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
