SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT MINUTES Monday, April 17, 2006 The Regular Meeting of the Trustees of the Sourdough Fire District was called to order at 7:40 pm Monday, April 17, 2006 at the South Third fire station. Present were Trustees Geddes, Larimer, and Chairman Kraft. Chief Crandell, COC Rose, and Dennis Carlson were in attendance.
Agenda review: Following approval of the minutes from the regular March meeting and adoption of the consent agenda, Trustees agreed to move COC Rose’s and Carlson’s presentation to the top of the regular agenda. Approval of March Minutes: Geddes moved approve and Larimer seconded. Passed without objection. Consent Agenda: Financial Report was presented – Geddes moved to accept and to pay warrants > $500. Larimer seconded. Passed without objection. Chief Crandell noted trustee Geddes’ concern regarding the account balance in the safety equipment line. Chief Crandell observed this budget area is experiencing increased costs. They are being covered by one-time grant funds. Chief Crandell cautions this is not a sustainable situation. Regular Agenda: COC Rosereported on continuing efforts to increase communication with district residents. Rose presented a $500.00 check from Noon Rotary to Chief Crandell. This is a grant in support of safety equipment. Dennis Carlson presented another iteration of an informational DVD designed to inform district residents of the needs identified in the Trustees’ on gong service assessment. Discussion followed regarding general communications efforts with district residents. Chiefs Report: Chief Crandell requested the board pass a resolution to request Gallatin County release fire impact fees in the amount of $6,683.00 to partially fund the acquisition of a new (used) water truck, designated WT-7. Geddes move approve and Larimer seconded. Passed without objection. Chief Crandell and trustees reviewed district service assessment and the resources requirements associated with different levels of service delivery. Chief Crandell and trustees toured the latest addition to the district’s apparatus fleet, WT-7. This 27 year old vehicle was purchased from the Katonha, NY VFD and is in excellent condition, for its age.
