SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT MINUTES The regular meeting of the Sourdough Rural Fire District Board of Trustees was called to order by Vice-Chairman Steve Dayhuff at 7:35 PM Don January 21, 2002. Trustees present were Dayhuff, Geddes, Bachman and Harper. Absent was Kraft. Also present was Chief Crandell. The minutes of the December 17, 2001 were presented and were approved upon motion by Geddes and second by Bachman. The Treasurer's report was presented and was approved upon motion (including the payment of warrants > $300) by Bachman and second by Geddes. It was noted that Real Property revenue for December was $139,023.21, reflecting the increase mil levy and available loan revenue is $750,000 from First Security Bank. Bookkeeper Scott Mueller was again recognized for continued excellence of presentation and accuracy. The Chief's Report was presented and is included in the record. A major initiative between Sourdough and other Gallatin Front districts will be operational planning for interface fire situations and interagency cooperation. Homeowner preparedness and response was also discussed. The Trustees continue to recognize Kandy Rose for her tireless work with home owner groups to plan for emergency situations, though the developing preparedness program. The selected contractor for the septic installation at the 3rd road station is Tony Kolnick from 4-Corners. He will work with Allied Engineering; installation can begin at any time during 50 degree weather. The Trustees then inspected plans and specifications for the Cottonwood station that will be constructed on land obtained by the Rae District. The Trustees directed the chief to draw up specifications for review by potential contracting parties and to set bid opening dates through legal notice to be prepared by Allied Engineering. Resolution No. 2002-1 was presented from the County Clerk's office calling for an Election for two trustees to fill seats occupied by Dayhuff and Bachman. Text of a legal advertisement of the election was also brought forward. Resolution 2002-1 was motioned by Bachman, seconded by Dayhuff and passed. (Bachman later submitted the legal for publication in the BDC on January 30.) Bachman and Dayhuff indicated they would submit petitions for election. If no one else comes forward with a petition prior to February 21, the County Commissioners will appoint Bachman and Dayhuff and there will be no need for an election. Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 PM. |
