SOURDOUGH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT
January 15, 2001

The regular meeting of the Sourdough Fire District Board of Trustees was called to order by Chair, Dave Kraft at 7:35 , January 15, 2001 . All trustees were present as was Chief Crandell. The minutes of the December 11, 2000 were presented. Dayhuff moved and Geddes 2 nd ; minutes were approved. The December 11, 2000 minutes are contained in the meeting record for that date.

The Financial Report to 1-10-2001 was presented by Treasurer Geddes. Geddes moved and Dayhuff seconded; the financial report was approved and entered into the record. A warrant for $1,467 was presented for approval and signatures. This expenditure was for roof repair from the tree that blew down earlier in the winter. The sum above insurance deductible will be reimbursed.

The Chief's Report through 1/15/01 was presented. This included a summation if incidents in 2000. The report is entered in the record.

The web page is up and running and will soon include minutes, resolutions and other actions of the board. These will continue to be presented at the regular monthly meetings.

Trustee Geddes presented the District Assessment and Action Plan and solicited public comment, from the 12 persons in attendance. In general, the public seemed supportive, though several had reservations about costs. It was noted that despite advertisement, public turnout remains very low.

Resolution 2001-1 "…calling for an election pursuant to section 15-10-420, MCA, to approve an increase in the annual tax levy of up to, but not to exceed, 38 mills or $240,996, whichever is greater …" was presented by Secretary Bachman. This resolution seeks to address the District Assessment and Action Plan through taxation over the current 11.43 mills and c. $70,000 revenue. The trustees had previously reviewed the resolution, which was also reviewed by Marty Lambert, County Attorney . Adoption of Resolution 2001-1 was moved by Geddes and 2 nd by Harper, and passed unanimously. All Trustees then signed the Resolution. Bachman is to deliver to the Gallatin Co. Clerk and Recorder

The meeting was adjourned at 9:35PM

The signed resolution was hand delivered to Clerk and Recorder Shelly Vance at 1:30 PM the following day.
